New DVD Includes 3 Hours of Instruction and 186 Fighting Applications for the Baguazhang "8 Main Palms" Form
This is the first form -- other than the "8 Basic Palms" practice form -- that my students learn when they are studying Baguazhang. There is a treasure trove of good internal kung-fu in this form. As usual, I try to focus on the internal body mechanics that give the art relaxed power and internal strength. It's a good idea to first study the Internal Strength and Silk-Reeling DVDs before tackling Bagua.
Besides detailed instruction on each movement, you'll watch as I coach a student -- Colin Frye -- through the form. Colin has worked on the form for a year or so and I help him polish it a bit while you watch and learn.
We also demonstrate 186 fighting applications from the form's movements, again with an emphasis on internal body mechanics.
I could have broken this up into two DVDs but I try to cram as much value as I can into my DVDs, so this is a 3-hour production. You will learn something regardless of the style of Bagua you practice.
